On Thursday June 15, Catholics will come together to honour our King, Lord, and Saviour in venerating the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
We are encouraging everyone to dust off that portrait of the Sacred Heart hanging on the wall, and put it to use — on the streets of Ottawa and on Parliament Hill.
Before the Procession on the 15th, please join the St. Joan of Arc Community in a Novena to the Sacred Heart, commencing on June 8 and ending on the Solemnity on the 16th.
The event will be livestreamed and a liturgical program will be available on our home page.
The intention of this Procession is for the reparation of the offenses of the Canadian people against the Sacred Heart of Jesus, especially for the reparation against the perversion of the image of God which is celebrated during the entire month of June in most western countries, including this one.
With Matt Walsh’s documentary What is Woman? garnering (currently) 140 million views in about 36 hours on Twitter, and the recent backlash against Target, Budlight, and the Dodgers, dare we hope that perhaps things might be turning around? We don’t know, but the time is now to help Our Lady squeeze the Devil’s head, to reveal what true love is in an ocean of fake love. Not all love is the same. Some love is legitimate. The other kind of “love” is but an aping of real love.
Love in the Christian understanding is sacrifice in truth. Love in modern culture is mere entertainment and gratification without truth. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is an image of sacrificial love under the obedience of Truth. It is the exact opposite image of what is being pushed today.
Let us recall that Our Lord had nothing to do with the lascivious Pride which is extolled today. No, Jesus was not about the Pride, but He was about the Promises.
In eternity, either we will allow love to enter us and ravish us, or our Pride will refuse that love, will refuse Our Lord’s Sacred Heart which will burn and seer us.
Love burns when it is rejected by the beloved, but it is beyond comprehension what awaits those who accept it!
In her Immaculate Heart,
John Pacheco
